Obituary

Maria Anatra Piccione Fouce passed away on September 7, 2026, in Nashville, TN, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 21, 1952, Maria was preceded in death by her son, Julian Thomas Fouce; her parents, Peter and Frances Piccione; her father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Betty Fouce; her brothers-in-law, Stephen Fouce and Daniel Otter; and her sister-in-law, Lynn Martin Fouce.

Maria is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom; their son, Vincent (Amber Carollo); her sister, Laura Smith (David); and her brother, Peter Piccione. Other survivors include nephews Jimmy, Peter, and Michael Piccione and Christian Otter; nieces Gabrielle Piccione, Danielle Otter, and Kathleen Otter; sisters-in-law Laura Fouce, Paula Fouce (Joe Stevens), Martha Fouce (Barry Otto), Victoria Otter, and Renee Carly; and her extended Piccione, Raimondi, and Fouce families.

Maria was a lover of art, music, and fashion. She loved traveling, gardening, flowers, and beautiful antique décor, and she cherished her family and friendships above all.

Maria was the owner of Anatra Hair in West Hollywood, CA, and Anatra Jewel in Nashville, TN. Through these businesses, she developed many friendships and was able to mentor many young women. Maria treasured the relationships she formed with her clients and coworkers over the years.

Maria was an incredible wife and a deeply devoted mother to her sons, Julian and Vincent. Her love, compassion, and bravery in caring for Julian during the years of his illness knew no bounds.

Tom and Vincent would like to thank the staff of Serving Our Seniors, who helped us take such good care of Maria for the last two years, especially Ashley, Shima, and Kunijia; the staff of Alive Hospice; Sallie Woodward, PT; and Dr. William Sullivan and the staff at Vanderbilt Executive Wellness and Concierge Medicine.

Maria's infectious laugh, unwavering loyalty, and endless warmth will always be remembered by those she loved and who loved her.
